Kimono Outfits - Essentials (1)

We spent a lot of time working on this release, as soon as the outfits were in our hands. We wanted to make it much like the switch version where the outfits were brand new slots and equippable. Normally this is impossible by our current modding knowledge, but with a ton of research and patience from Grojdg, it's possible. It requires some work-arounds but it's pretty amazing in it's current state.sidenote: to reequip the default outfit, equip and unequip the outfit for that character.
Unequipping now works, make sure you are on the latest NASA version!

Don't forget about the white alternative outfits --

Masks are coming as a workaround in a bit, we can't add them as new items just yet.This mod contains some new modding additions:
- custom outfit slots
- custom bone physics
- new UI elements
- brand new NPC shop

Patch notes:

- Added the masks and hair ornaments as workarounds

Since they are basic swaps the front hair of 9s/2b/a2 will clip through the fox masks. The switch version has a system that will alternate to a custom hair mesh with removed front hair when equipping a mask to avoid hair clipping (we don't have this system).

- blue ribbon is the white swan ornament
- pink ribbon is the black wreath ornament
- desert mask is the white fox mask
- emil mask is the black fox mask

check Miscellaneous Files section for this specific download

(make sure to download the latest NASA from Grojdg's github as plenty of the fixes come from there!)

Since there's new features, we have some special requirements. You need to have nier-mod-loader and NASA installed, the automatic installer can do this for you.

Automatic Installation Tutorial:

Part 1:
(REQUIRES WOLF'S LIMIT BREAK)
Download the Phase 1 Kimonos zip file and the "Automatic Installer" from this nexus page in the "Main Files" section of the "Files" tab. Extract the "data" folder of the Phase 1 Kimonos zip file to your NieRAutomata installation directory, merging with the existing data\ directory. Extract the .ps1 and the .bat file from the Automatic Installer zip into your NieRAutomata installation directory also, next to the .exe file.

Part 2:

Double click the kimono-helper.bat file (NOT the .ps1 file.). It should open a PowerShell window. If it asks for permission to "make changes to your device", click "Yes".

Part 3a (non-SpecialK):

If you do not have SpecialK installed, and do not wish to install it, type "1" and then press enter inside of the PowerShell window. This will install NASA into data\mods\plugins\, and mod-loader as d3d11.dll. This will continue to work as an updater, so if NASA or mod-loader receive updates, using option 1 will automatically download and install them.
Otherwise, use Part 3b.

Part 3b (SpecialK):Assuming you already have SpecialK installed, run option 3, then run option 5 and select the .ini your SpecialK is using (it should be named after a .dll, e.g. dinput8, dxgi).

Extras:

Options 2-5 are for SpecialK (aka FAR) installs.

  • 2. If you do not have SpecialK installed and would like to install it along with mod-loader and NASA, use option 2.
  • 3. If you have everything installed (mod-loader, NASA, SpecialK) and would like to update mod-loader and NASA, use option 3.
  • 4. If you want to update SpecialK, use option 4.
  • 5. If you already have SpecialK installed and would like it to load mod-loader on game launch, use option 5.

Manual Installation Tutorial:

Part 1 (first time only):

Download mod-loader.dll from Grojdg's github here:github.com/xxk-i/nier-mod-loader/releases
Place the dll in your NieRAutomata\ directory beside the .exe
Find your SpecialK/FAR ini file. Depending on when/how you installed it, it could be called dxgi.ini, dinput8.ini, etc.
Go to the bottom of your .ini file and paste this:

[Import.ModLoader]
Architecture=x64
Role=ThirdParty
When=Early
Blacklist=
Filename=mod_loader.dll

Part 2:

Download the zip fromnexus downloadspageand move the data\ directory to your NieRAutomata installation directory, merging the folders (NierAutomata\data\).Part 3:

DownloadNASA.dllfrom Grojdg's github here:github.com/xxk-i/NASA/releases
Place NASA.dll in your \NieRAutomata\data\mods\plugins folderOnce you install everything you might need to reload your game once for changes to take effect.
